Timothy Berry is the lead vocalist, percussionist, and director of Praise Groove, a gospel group based in the Twin Cities. Mr. Berry has a B.S. degree in Music Education and Performance from Mankato State University and a Master's degree in Music Education from The University of Minnesota. 

    He has taught in the Burnsville, Waconia, and Minneapolis School Districts. Mr. Berry has conducted workshops and served as tenor soloist for several choirs, throughout the state of Minnesota. In addition, he has given presentations in schools and universities on issues surrounding race, black culture, and race relations. 

    He has performed nationally as a singer, actor, and instrumentalist with theater, orchestral, and opera companies, including plays such as August Wilson's "Fences" with Penumbra Theater. He has also performed with Grammy Award winner, Larnelle Harris. 

    Mr. Berry founded Praise Groove Ministries in 1995. His group, Praise Groove recorded their first album "In The Groove Of Praise," in 1996. They released their second album "Praise Like A Levite" in July 1999. Mr. Berry has recently appeared with the Leigh Morris Chorale, and he is dedicated to using music to build cross-cultural bridges. He and his wife Julie have two children, Josiah and Olivia .
